I was a gruelling 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with one child strapped on my back and the others crawling in the playpen. Ha! Everything was starting to fall in place, yet it was not quite done. In this undertaking, I was prepared to shell out a substantial amount of money and time searching for the perfect home. To keep within my budget, I took my boys along with me as I searched for gems hidden in estate sales. We would go from the week of Thursday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. Then I repainted and smoothed in the driveway during the workweek. The look was a little like the following... Here's the place where my passion for restoring antique furniture started. Even after our house was furnished I couldn't stop! There was an area on the market to sell objects. In the end, I was stuffed with too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. The number of people who visited my home over the course of a weekend, to shop for everything that was on the ground. Growing Days was created in this house. My company was flourishing and my family was growing too. The balance between work and family was crucial to me. I wanted to be a mom as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days just seemed to fit. In 2013, my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th kiddo. My business was going well however I needed a break. I got away from the old furniture in order to spend the time I needed with my family. It was exactly the thing I needed. The phone rang again after several minutes. I was getting calls from people seeking help for decorating their homes and interior renovations. The majority of people who contacted me were people who had attended one of my furniture open house events. It wasn't long before I was managing a full-scale business for home improvement. The first step was to take clients at a pace that I felt at ease with. When you first spoke to me about my home renovation business, I laughed. If I think at it, it has made me smile.
